Fred N. Delanoy was born in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1952. He is an internationally recognized artist, with his Ink Bamboo paintings hanging in private collections in Hong Kong, Scotland UK, Canada, and throughout the United States. His paintings and silk scrolls have been shown both in the United States and in Shanghai, China.


Mr. Delanoy’s favorite body of work is “The Manual of  Ink Bamboo” (1350),

by Wu Chen (1280-1354). He is most heavily influenced by the originators of

Northern Sung Ink Bamboo Paintings, the Grand Masters Su Shih (1036-1101)

and Weng Tung (1018-1079).


He recently completed his second book devoted entirely to the “First Gentleman” of Chinese Ink Brush Painting, Bamboo. The works featured on this website are presented as paintings and silk scrolls in both traditional and contemporary styles.
